Project Manager – Capital Projects

About the role

The Bega Valley Shire Council is seeking a proactive Project Manager to lead the procurement and delivery of capital projects across its diverse assets. You will guide projects from detailed planning through construction and commissioning, ensuring they meet community needs and council standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare briefs and tender documentation for design and construction services.
• Communicate project scope, tasks, and timelines to stakeholders.
• Manage contracts with consultants and contractors, monitoring progress against specifications and program.
• Evaluate and administer contract payments and ensure compliance with WHS, EEO, and risk management requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor degree in engineering, architecture, or project/construction management.
• Proven experience delivering works across the full project cycle in NSW.
• Strong understanding of contract management principles, risk, WHS, and EEO.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

What we offer

• Fixed‑term full‑time role (35 hrs/week) for two years.
• Total remuneration of $125,975.85 AUD per annum (inclusive of superannuation and civil liability allowance).
