Project Manager, BESS

About the role

A leading Australian energy infrastructure organisation, which delivers utility-scale renewable energy and high-voltage infrastructure projects, is strengthening its project delivery team. It is recruiting a Project Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of utility-scale BESS and HV substation projects, from planning through construction, commissioning, whole-plant testing and handover. The role leads a team of Project Engineers, SME engineers and site resources.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of utility-scale BESS and HV substation projects from planning through construction, commissioning and handover.
• Lead and coordinate Project Engineers, SME engineers and site resources to achieve project delivery objectives.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, resources, risks and contractual obligations.
• Coordinate civil, electrical, construction and commissioning teams, resolving technical and delivery issues.
• Manage subcontractors, consultants, clients and internal stakeholders while overseeing procurement, cost forecasting and commercial performance.

Required profile

• Civil or Electrical Engineering degree.
• Proven experience delivering utility-scale BESS and/or HV/EHV substation projects through construction, commissioning and handover.
• Strong project management experience across budgets, schedules, subcontractors, procurement and commercial risk.
• Demonstrated ability to lead Project Engineers, technical specialists and site teams while managing client and stakeholder relationships.
• Experience across both BESS and HV/EHV substation projects is highly regarded.
