Project Engineer

About the role

Orion Group, a multi-disciplinary land development company with five offices across NSW and Queensland, is hiring a full-time Project Engineer in Sydney. The primary role is to assist the Senior Project Engineer in planning, executing and finalising projects on time and within budget, coordinating resources such as team members, contractors and consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Help define project objectives and oversee quality control throughout the project lifecycle
• Manage project budgets and invoicing, and seek variations where needed
• Liaise with authorities and utility agencies to obtain project approvals
• Prepare works contracts, quantities and tender documentation
• Update project budgets and programs fortnightly, chair fortnightly meetings and issue minutes
• Monitor compliance with client EHS policies and assist with site inspections and progress reports
• Interact regularly and professionally with clients; business development is expected and encouraged
• Implement good practice, templates, policies, tools and partnerships, and adopt Orion's Integrated Management System

Required profile

• Bachelor of Civil Engineering
• 1 to 5 years of post-graduate experience
• Solid communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Ability to focus, meet deadlines, prioritise and coordinate
• Works well independently and within a team
