Project Engineer

About the role

Hitachi Energy is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support high‑voltage substation and renewable energy projects across Australia and New Zealand. You will coordinate engineering activities from design through commissioning, ensuring safety, quality and schedule compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate engineering work across the full project lifecycle.
• Deliver technical solutions for high‑voltage and utility‑scale renewable projects.
• Support testing, installation, commissioning and overall project execution.
• Collaborate with suppliers, contractors and internal supply‑chain teams to meet technical requirements.
• Contribute to project planning, risk assessments and contract management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical preferred).
• Approximately 5+ years of experience in high‑voltage, utilities, renewables, transmission or distribution.
• Eligible for or working towards CPEng registration.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary project teams.
