Project Engineer

About the role

Canyon Solar is looking for a Project Engineer to join its delivery team and help turn car‑park rooftops into solar canopies across Australia. You will work closely with sales, development, production and site teams to ensure projects move smoothly from contract signing to hand‑over.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in planning, scheduling and coordinating projects from contract award through completion.
• Support procurement activities: compare subcontractor quotes, prepare purchase orders and track material deliveries against budget and timeline.
• Manage interdisciplinary interfaces (civil, electrical, mechanical) by coordinating drawings, technical documents and quality‑assurance records.
• Maintain QA documentation, including inspection and test plans, and ensure timely communication across all teams.
• Conduct on‑site inspections, support testing and hand‑over activities, and monitor work health and safety and environmental compliance.
• Track project costs, forecast budgets and contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Engineering background or equivalent experience in project delivery within renewable‑energy, construction or manufacturing environments.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external subcontractors.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for documentation and scheduling.
• Understanding of WHS and environmental compliance requirements.
