Project Engineer

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a Project Engineer to join the Malabar System Alliance, a major wastewater renewal program for Sydney Water. The role supports the Senior Project Engineer and Construction Manager in delivering safe, high‑quality infrastructure upgrades across multiple sites in Sydney’s south and west.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Project Engineer and Construction Manager to deliver the project on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.
• Control costs and forecasts to aid strategic planning.
• Coordinate activities with supervisors and maintain effective relationships.
• Ensure quality, environmental, and safety standards are upheld throughout the project.
• Liaise with subcontractors to monitor performance and workmanship quality.
• Manage construction budgets and monitor financial performance for assigned project aspects.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in forecasting, budgeting, and cost control.
• Proven ability to review designs and translate them into construction plans and methodologies.
• Experience developing project delivery plans and evaluating commercial and technical risk.
