Project Engineer – Copper Mining Projects

About the role

A global resources company with a strong presence in South Australia's copper industry is hiring Project Engineers to support major mining projects in its Copper SA portfolio. The work is based in Adelaide, Monday to Friday, within the Owner's Team, coordinating with EPCM contractors and other project partners. The initial engagement is a 6-month contract with possible extension to 12 months, paid $110 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Provide project engineering support across major mining projects in the Copper SA portfolio
• Support delivery of materials handling, mine infrastructure and surface concentrator project scopes
• Work within the Owner's Team, coordinating with EPCM contractors, engineering consultants and other delivery partners
• Coordinate Technical Assurance activities so technical requirements and standards are met
• Facilitate technical reviews and assurance activities, engaging Subject Matter Experts and stakeholders
• Track technical assurance actions to completion and escalate significant technical risks or issues
• Monitor and report on technical assurance progress, project risks and outstanding actions
• Support project planning, engineering coordination, risk management and overall project delivery

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering (relevant discipline)
• Minimum 5+ years in project engineering within mining or resources
• Experience supporting major mining projects, ideally in an Owner's Team or EPCM environment
• Experience with materials handling, mine infrastructure and/or mineral processing and concentrator projects highly regarded
• Experience coordinating engineering activities, technical reviews and assurance processes
• Ability to work from the Adelaide office Monday to Friday; interstate candidates may be considered if willing to travel to Adelaide fortnightly for 34 days
