Project Commissioning Lead

About the role

Aggreko is seeking an experienced Project Commissioning Lead to oversee commissioning activities for hybrid renewable energy projects, including thermal generation, solar PV, battery storage, and wind. The role ensures safe, efficient start‑up and handover of assets while collaborating with engineering, construction, OEM partners, and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and lead commissioning for hybrid renewable projects.
• Develop commissioning procedures, inspection and test plans, schedules and checklists.
• Supervise commissioning teams, subcontractors and third‑party vendors to ensure quality and safety.
• Oversee system testing, performance verification and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with engineering, construction and operations to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Prepare detailed commissioning documentation, reports and handover packages.
• Facilitate client inspections, acceptance testing and final project handover.
• Drive continuous improvement in commissioning processes.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering or related field.
• 5–10+ years commissioning experience in power generation or heavy industrial projects.
• Proven track record commissioning thermal, solar PV, wind turbines and BESS.
• Experience with hybrid plant controls, EMS, SCADA and grid integration.
• Strong understanding of HV/LV systems, protection schemes, grid codes and utility interfacing.
• Knowledge of hazardous area requirements for hydrocarbon environments.

Required skills

• High voltage switching qualifications (preferred).
• OEM training/certifications for solar inverters, wind turbines or BESS.
• Familiarity with IEC, AS/NZS and relevant grid codes.
• Expertise in SCADA and Energy Management Systems.
• Proficiency in HV/LV electrical systems and protection schemes.
