About the role

Western Sydney University’s School of Law is seeking a senior academic leader to join its Parramatta South campus as a Professor. The role involves shaping legal education, driving high‑impact research and fostering community and industry partnerships within a diverse student body.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of blended learning programmes for undergraduate and postgraduate law courses.
• Innovate curriculum across the School, ensuring relevance to social justice, commercial law, human rights, international and inter‑Asia legalities.
• Mentor early‑ and mid‑career academics and promote a strong teaching and research culture.
• Develop and secure external research funding, oversee scholarly projects and enhance the School’s national and international reputation.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with industry, professional bodies, community partners and international collaborators.

Required profile

• PhD in Law or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated leadership in teaching, research and community engagement at a senior academic level.
• Proven record of scholarly publications and success in attracting external research funding.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills across disciplines, industry and community sectors.

Required skills

• Pedagogical design and implementation of blended learning environments.
• Use of educational technologies to support diverse learners.
