Professor of Law – Full‑time Academic Position

About the role

Western Sydney University’s School of Law is seeking a full‑time Professor to lead teaching, research and community engagement. The role will shape blended learning programmes for a diverse student body and enhance the School’s national and international reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver contemporary blended learning across undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes.
• Lead curriculum innovation and support diverse learning styles.
• Mentor early‑ and mid‑career academics and foster a strong teaching and research culture.
• Develop interdisciplinary collaborations with other faculties and research institutes.
• Drive high‑impact research aligned with clusters such as commercial law, human rights, international law and social justice.
• Secure external research funding and build partnerships with industry, professional bodies and community organisations.

Required profile

• PhD in law or a related discipline.
• Proven leadership in teaching, research and engagement at a senior academic level.
• Excellence in pedagogical design and use of educational technologies.
• Track record of attracting external research funding and supervising research students.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills across academia, industry and community partners.

• Annual salary $230,375 – $238,446 plus 17 % superannuation and leave loading.
