Production Technician

About the role

Samsara Eco uses enzymes to break down plastics and textiles back to their building blocks so they can be made into new products again and again. As a Production Technician you will run and monitor the production plant, keep it safe and efficient, and help adapt as new equipment comes online. The role is based in Jerrabomberra, near Canberra.

Key responsibilities

• Run and monitor pumps, valves, reactors and control systems, watching temperature, pressure, flow and levels
• Carry out regular equipment checks and basic maintenance, flagging faults early
• Follow the process from raw materials to finished product and keep accurate batch records
• Check materials and product against quality standards
• Follow SOPs and checklists, keeping safety in mind
• Work with engineers, lab, maintenance and quality teams to troubleshoot and trial improvements

Required profile

• Hands-on experience in a plant, production, manufacturing or operations role (chemical, food, water, pharma, mining, packaging or similar)
• A safety-first mindset and a habit of following procedures
• Good attention to detail and the confidence to speak up when something looks off
• Team player who is keen to learn; not every requirement is essential

Required skills

• Comfortable with numbers, record keeping and everyday computers (email, Excel, Word)
• Bonus: experience in a chemical or process environment, reading PFDs or P&IDs, exposure to quality systems or control systems
