Production Operator – Mill Operations (Relocation to Australia)

About the role

Visy is seeking experienced Production Operators to join its large‑scale paper mills in New South Wales, Australia. This role offers a structured pathway for relocation, including visa and relocation support, allowing you to advance your papermaking career in a modern, high‑investment environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor integrated pulp and paper processes across Fibreline, Recovery, Utilities, Paper Machine, Recycled Fibre, Finishing and Quality areas.
• Control plant operations remotely via the Distributed Control System (DCS), handling start‑up, normal run, and shutdown procedures.
• Perform field inspections, routine tasks, process sampling and manual control adjustments while maintaining strict safety standards.
• Analyse performance data to optimise quality, efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify maintenance needs, support isolation/de‑isolation activities and collaborate with maintenance and technical teams.

Required profile

• Certificate III, Diploma or Degree in Pulp & Paper Operations/Technology, Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum five years’ experience in a pulp or paper mill, refinery, power generation or similarly complex high‑risk manufacturing environment.
• Boiler and/or Turbine High Risk Work Licence (highly regarded).
• Ability to work a 24/7 rotating roster including days, nights, weekends and public holidays.
