Production Chemist - Laverton North

About the role

Redox, a raw material and ingredients distributor with locations across Australia, New Zealand, Asia and North America, is looking for a motivated graduate to join its chemical manufacturing and blending facility in Laverton North, Victoria. This is a permanent full-time, on-site position in the Manufacturing department, combining technical chemistry work with hands-on production tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and manage a library of technical literature covering SDS, specifications and other product information.
• Prepare samples for testing while maintaining sample integrity and traceability.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Ensure sampling, retention and testing follow company procedures and that finished products are released in line with GMP.
• Arrange external testing and analysis of products and solutions, and collect and archive supplier test methods.
• Monitor pending work orders, purchase orders and stock transfers, raise work orders and stock transfer requests, and handle general admin such as answering calls and investigating stock discrepancies.
• Provide relief and operational support to the Store Coordinator, Transport Coordinator and Production Management team.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Chemistry or a science-related field.
• Previous experience as a lab assistant or production technician is viewed favourably.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Commitment to WHS, GMP and HACCP.

Required skills

• Computer literacy.
• Knowledge of the Microsoft 365 Office Suite.
