Product Specialist - Mechanical Cutting

About the role

Sandvik Mining is looking for a Product Specialist for its Mechanical Cutting equipment in Mackay, Queensland. The specialist embeds with the customer's operations to maximise the performance, safety and availability of Sandvik equipment, acting as the main technical contact on site. The roster is 5 days on, 2 days off, a 38-hour week, with frequent travel to customer sites in Queensland.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve equipment issues and coach customer and Sandvik technicians in best-practice maintenance
• Build strong relationships with customers and promote loyalty to the Sandvik brand
• Provide technical coaching to the service network and support end users, operators and service personnel on complex issues
• Supply feedback to Technical Support Managers and Factory Product Engineering teams and assist with warranty claim investigation
• Analyse machine downtime data, recommend spare parts and lead root cause analysis of component failures
• Use machine telemetry data to help customers optimise their Bolter Miner fleet

Required profile

• Mechanical Trade Certificate (or equivalent) and at least seven years' post-trade experience in underground mining
• Proven history in a similar technical role and experience training maintenance personnel and operators
• Driver's licence, basic computer skills and the right to live and work in Australia
• Pre-employment medical required; agencies need not apply

Required skills

• Exceptional written and verbal communication, especially in customer-facing situations
• Ability to perform under pressure and adapt to shifting priorities
• Expertise in Sandvik Mechanical Cutting equipment is highly regarded
