Product Security Engineer

About the role

Boeing Defence Australia is seeking a proactive Product Security Engineer to join the Joint Systems Capability team. You will help enhance and sustain operational software for the Wakulda Air Battle Management System, working on cutting‑edge defence projects.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to software and hardware implementations and product reviews within the security lifecycle.
• Develop and implement system security packages covering information assurance, intrusion detection, software protection, communications security, network security, reverse engineering and SIEM.
• Collaborate with a diverse engineering team to ensure first‑time quality and adherence to engineering processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in product security or cybersecurity supporting complex technical development.
• Self‑starter with strong attention to detail and ability to follow engineering lifecycles.
• Effective communicator who works inclusively within a high‑performing team.

Required skills

• Product security and cybersecurity expertise.
• Knowledge of system security domains: information assurance, intrusion detection, software protection, communications security, network security, reverse engineering, SIEM.
• Linux and Windows system administration.
• Experience with DevOps environments, virtualization, networking, and configuration management tools.
