Product Designer – Media & Editorial

About the role

REA Group is hiring a Product Designer for its New Homes & Audience Solutions team, which shapes media and editorial experiences across its digital properties. The role improves ad performance, customer value and consistency across REA's digital experiences. It is a 12-month fixed-term position based in Melbourne or Sydney.

Key responsibilities

• Lead discovery and design across editorial content and media on the portal, from problem definition and exploration through to delivery and continuous improvement.
• Partner with product managers, engineers, commercial stakeholders, data specialists, editorial and content teams to turn ideas into reality.
• Contribute to the discovery, launch and iteration of advertising products and formats, using customer feedback and performance data.
• Create clearer, more consistent experiences for editorial categories and articles, including components, hierarchies and design-system patterns.
• Build journeys, interaction models, prototypes and other design artefacts that align teams around a direction.
• Take part in design critiques and promote user-centred practices across cross-functional teams.

Required profile

• Experience designing digital products and experiences across discovery, delivery and iteration.
• Enjoys agile, fast-paced environments and moving between strategy, discovery and hands-on design.
• Comfortable with ambiguity, cares about design quality and connects customer needs to business outcomes.
• Collaborative, solutions-focused, with strong stakeholder partnerships and openness to feedback.
• Interest in media, advertising, editorial products or agency environments; knowledge of how Meta and Google ads are created and managed is a bonus.

Required skills

• Use of research, customer insight and data to understand needs, test ideas and evaluate product performance.
• Understanding of design systems, interaction design and systems thinking.
