Product Compliance & Sustainability Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Product Compliance & Sustainability Specialist to join the MECCA‑Maginations team. You will work at the intersection of product development, regulatory compliance and sustainability, helping bring safe, compliant and responsible products to market across Australia, New Zealand and international markets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage product compliance documentation and review formulations, ingredients, artwork, labelling and product claims against relevant regulatory and market requirements.
• Support international expansion by assessing product compliance requirements and partnering with regulatory experts in target markets.
• Coordinate product claims substantiation, testing and certification processes, ensuring supporting evidence and documentation are maintained.
• Monitor regulatory and industry developments, provide guidance to cross‑functional teams and flag potential compliance risks.
• Support MECCA’s sustainability commitments, including sustainability claims, reporting, responsible sourcing and product/packaging data.

Required profile

• 2–3 years’ experience in product regulatory compliance, preferably within cosmetics, therapeutic goods or personal care.
• Strong knowledge of Australian and New Zealand regulatory requirements; international experience is a plus.
• Experience in an FMCG environment and understanding of the new product development lifecycle.
• Exposure to sustainability, responsible sourcing and product or packaging sustainability requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational and communication skills.
