Procurement Specialist - Hunter Class Frigate Program

About the role

BAE Systems Australia is looking for a Procurement Specialist to join its team in Osborne, SA or Melbourne, VIC, within the Hunter Class Frigate Program. The role sources and manages supplier relationships, sets up contractual arrangements and delivers value-driven outcomes aligned with business objectives, quality standards, schedules and safety requirements. Hybrid and flexible working arrangements are offered, including a 9-day fortnight.

Key responsibilities

• Aid procurement elements of bids and tenders, ensuring robust definition of requirements and commercial terms
• Support the supplier evaluation process and sourcing recommendations on behalf of the business
• Help develop robust supplier sourcing strategies
• Manage supplier performance against schedule, cost and quality, developing and embedding relevant KPIs
• Lead supplier negotiations and finalise supplier agreements and purchase orders in line with procedures and Delegations of Authority

Required profile

• Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain one; applicants must be Australian citizens
• Demonstrated experience in procurement or supply chain
• Familiarity with developing and negotiating contracts with key suppliers
• Tertiary qualification in a relevant field is desirable; defence industry experience is highly regarded
• Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and deliver on commitments
