Procurement Officer

About the role

The Procurement Officer will coordinate purchasing activities for Bouygues Construction Australia, ensuring timely and efficient acquisition of goods and services across civil infrastructure and engineering projects. Reporting to the Senior Procurement Officer & Deputy Manager, you will play a key part in supporting project delivery through strategic sourcing and contract management.

Key responsibilities

• Identify synergies and standardise requirements to broaden sourcing opportunities.
• Prepare tender invitations following Joint Venture procedures and launch tenders.
• Develop tender analysis and negotiation strategies.
• Participate in technical and commercial interviews with shortlisted vendors.
• Negotiate optimal terms that align with budget constraints.
• Provide recommendations to production teams and senior management.
• Prepare, review, and follow up on contracts.
• Assist in KPI preparation and maintain the procurement database.
• Organise local purchases for project sites.
• Compile all necessary documentation to ensure efficient purchasing.
• Engage with suppliers during consultation phases.

Required profile

• Degree in Management, Purchasing, Procurement or a related field.
• Previous professional experience in procurement.
• Excellent relationship-building abilities.
• Methodical, meticulous approach with common‑sense decision making.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Ability to critique, recommend and implement efficiency initiatives from a process or systems perspective.
