Procurement Lead

About the role

Our client, a leading supplier of plumbing, HVAC, fire protection and electrical products to the Australian construction industry, is seeking a Procurement Lead. The role oversees the procurement of all goods across multiple warehouse locations, managing a team of three purchasing officers and ensuring cost‑effective, high‑quality supply.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and manage the purchasing team.
• Develop and execute procurement strategies for local and international sourcing.
• Raise, adjust and finalise purchase orders (local and import) based on system recommendations and analysis.
• Negotiate and manage supplier relationships to secure competitive pricing, quality and delivery performance.
• Maintain optimal stock levels in collaboration with inventory, sales and operations teams.
• Work closely with Finance to manage budgets, forecast spend and drive cost‑saving initiatives.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain or purchasing, preferably within a similar industry.
• Strong negotiation abilities and experience managing supplier pricing, delivery terms and quality requirements.
• Solid understanding of purchasing processes, stock replenishment, supplier evaluation and cost control.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage stakeholders at all levels.
