Principal Solution Architect

About the role

Capgemini is looking for an experienced Principal Solution Architect to lead architecture and act as a trusted technology advisor for a key public services client in Canberra. The role combines executive stakeholder engagement, solution governance, business development, engineering excellence and architecture leadership across cloud‑native, modernisation, integration, AI and digital transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the account technology vision, architecture strategy and roadmap, acting as the senior architecture authority across all Capgemini‑delivered programmes.
• Provide trusted advisory to client executives, facilitate strategic planning, shape transformation roadmaps and identify technology‑led business opportunities.
• Review and assure complex enterprise‑scale solutions, ensuring they are scalable, secure, supportable and aligned with enterprise standards.
• Lead architecture governance, standards, principles and review processes, and champion engineering excellence and modern practices.
• Mentor Solution Architects, Domain Architects and Technical Leads, driving capability growth and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Significant experience in Solution Architecture, Enterprise Architecture or Technology Leadership roles, preferably within Defence, Government or regulated industries.
• Proven ability to lead architecture across multi‑vendor, enterprise‑scale environments and engage with senior client stakeholders.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience supporting large pursuits, business cases and account growth.
• Australian citizenship, based in Canberra, and willing to obtain or maintain an AGSVA security clearance.

• Architecture frameworks and certifications (TOGAF, SAFe).
