Principal Quality – 12‑month Fixed Term (Perth)

About the role

BHP is seeking a Principal Quality professional to support its Western Australia Asset Projects (WAAP). Based in Perth, you will provide specialist quality expertise, assurance and leadership across a portfolio of high‑value mining and infrastructure projects, ensuring safety, reliability and long‑term performance.

Key responsibilities

• Engage early with development and delivery teams to embed quality requirements throughout all project phases.
• Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of quality management systems, standards and processes across the WAAP portfolio.
• Review and endorse quality documentation and deliverables to ensure they are fit for purpose.
• Coordinate contractor, supplier and vendor quality activities and maintain accurate records.
• Execute risk‑based quality management and assurance plans to support effective project delivery.
• Identify and implement improvement initiatives that enhance capital efficiency and productivity.
• Evaluate lessons learned, industry best practices and innovations to drive continuous improvement.
• Provide quality guidance, assurance reporting and risk‑based recommendations to project and functional leadership.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior quality leader in large‑scale industrial or mining projects.
• Strong understanding of quality management frameworks, governance and risk‑based assurance.
• Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Perth and travel to project sites as required.
