Principal Geologist – Geometallurgy

About the role

The Principal Geologist, Geometallurgy will lead geometallurgical activities across First Quantum’s global operations, supporting mineral resource estimates and driving value creation in mining and processing.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, lead and manage geometallurgical work, including mentoring site teams and ensuring high technical standards.
• Oversee geometallurgical domaining, geological modelling, grade estimation, resource classification and NI 43‑101 public disclosure.
• Support near‑mine resource development, drilling programs, sampling, testing and data acquisition.
• Provide integrated geometallurgical block model information for planning, blasting, mining and processing.

Required profile

• Tertiary degree in geoscience and membership of a recognized professional organization (ROPO) per NI 43‑101.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in a senior geometallurgy/geology role.
• Experience in copper and nickel base‑metal geology, open‑pit production and ore control.

Required skills

• Geostatistics and geometallurgy certification or training.
• 3D geological modelling and database management.
• Proficiency with mining software such as Datamine, Leapfrog, Datashed, Snowden Supervisor, RMSP.
