Primary Classroom Teacher / Leader (POL 1)

About the role

A small primary school in Churchill, Victoria, is looking for a Primary Teacher and Aspiring Leader to join its team. The school has a strong parent community and respectful students, and offers an accelerated path to leadership. The position is full-time (1.0 FTE) and ongoing, under the Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Limited Schools and Secretariat Agreement 2022.

The teacher works alongside the Senior Leader of Teaching and Learning, spending 0.2 days in a leadership role and 0.8 days as classroom teacher. The school welcomes teachers who are not Catholic or from other sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Co-ordinate the assessment schedule with the Senior Leader of Teaching and Learning
• Analyse school data
• Lead the whole-school approach to positive behaviour initiatives

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Primary Education and VIT registration
• Sound understanding of the Victorian Curriculum and knowledge of contemporary pedagogy
• Well-developed, positive classroom management strategies
• Willingness to uphold the school's ethos and values
• Commitment to the DOSCEL Child Safety Standards and Code of Conduct
