Preventative Maintenance Technician

About the role

Primo Foods is looking for a skilled Preventative Maintenance Technician to join its Maintenance team in Wacol, Brisbane. The role keeps production lines reliable, safe and efficient through proactive, planned maintenance carried out mainly during scheduled downtime, helping to minimise breakdowns and improve equipment uptime.

The roster is 5:00am to 3:00pm, 4 days on, 1 day off, 4 days on, 5 days off, with a competitive salary and potential for overtime.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on production lines to maximise equipment uptime and reliability
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and fix electrical, control system, automation, pneumatic and hydraulic faults
• Maintain and support power distribution systems and production control systems
• Carry out routine inspections and spot potential failures before they affect production
• Respond to unexpected equipment issues or alarms during shift and carry out fault finding and resets
• Identify ways to improve plant efficiency and reduce downtime
• Contribute to continuous improvement, including root cause analysis and long-term corrective actions

Required profile

• Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (or equivalent)
• Experience in planned maintenance, breakdown and repair in an industrial, manufacturing or packaging environment
• Understanding of food safety, GMP and HACCP concepts

Required skills

• Electrical, control system, automation, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting
• Work orders, risk assessments, maintenance planning and scheduling
• Design solutions for capital projects
