Preschool Director – Ngura Yadurirn Children & Family Centre

About the role

The Ngura Yadurirn Children & Family Centre is seeking a full‑time Preschool Director to lead its integrated early‑learning services for children from birth to school age. The role is based in Ceduna and includes responsibility for an inclusive preschool programme, occasional care, playgroups and a suite of family‑support initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the preschool, ensuring high‑quality educational outcomes for all children, including those with additional needs.
• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of early‑childhood educators, allied health staff, community development officers and occupational therapists.
• Implement and monitor the Connected Beginning programme for Aboriginal children and families.
• Maintain strong partnerships with local schools, family‑support agencies and community organisations.
• Manage budgeting, staffing schedules and compliance with the SA School and Preschool Education Staff Enterprise Agreement.

Required profile

• Relevant early‑childhood education qualification (e.g., Diploma or Bachelor in Early Childhood, Education or equivalent).
• Demonstrated experience in managing a preschool or early‑learning centre, preferably in a rural or remote setting.
• Understanding of inclusive education practices and Aboriginal community engagement.
• Strong leadership, communication and relationship‑building skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of early‑learning curricula and inclusive teaching strategies.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to interpret and apply relevant education legislation and enterprise agreements.
