Prep Teacher – Early Childhood (Remote Indigenous Community)

About the role
Pormpuraaw State School is seeking a passionate Prep Teacher to join its close‑knit community. This permanent position starts in Term 3 (13‑07‑2026) and focuses on delivering high‑quality early childhood education to students beginning their schooling journey.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop foundational literacy, numeracy and social skills.
- Assess student progress and provide personalised feedback.
- Collaborate with a dedicated team of educators to support student success.
- Build strong, genuine connections with students, families and the wider Aboriginal community.
- Participate in professional development and school initiatives.
Required profile
- Relevant teaching qualification.
- Full or provisional Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration.
- Australian working rights or a valid visa.
- Pre‑service and graduate teachers are encouraged to apply (include practicum reports, mentor statements and unofficial transcript).
