Power Generation Field Service Technician - Level I

About the role

Cummins Inc. is hiring a Level I Power Generation Field Service Technician in Wetherill Park. Under direct or close supervision, the technician assists with basic repairs and preventative maintenance on power generation systems, parts and components at customer sites. On-the-job training and relevant Cummins-based courses are provided.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs on generators or components at the customer site with minimal direction
• Use specialised tools and follow documented procedures to diagnose faults and complete repairs
• Prepare parts, tools and equipment before starting repairs
• Escalate unresolved or complex issues to senior Field Service Technicians or Supervisors
• Carry out preventative maintenance according to documented schedules and standards
• Complete service documentation, timesheets and warranty claims accurately
• Maintain service vehicles and tools, and follow Health, Safety and Environmental policies

Required profile

• Minimal workshop-related experience required
• Basic knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products
• High voltage and low voltage experience
• Preferred: apprentice-trained Power Generation/Electrical Technician and a vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution
• Current relevant electrical certification and a locally valid driving permit
• Clear communication, customer focus, accountability, planning and continuous learning
