Ports & Maritime Design and Project Manager Roles in Australia

About the role

AECOM is expanding its Ports & Maritime capability across Australia and is looking for experienced Design and Project Managers to lead major ports, coastal and maritime infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design management and delivery of ports, marine structures, coastal infrastructure and waterfront developments.
• Own and manage packages of work, accountable for scope, programme, technical delivery and client outcomes.
• Coordinate with AECOM teams nationally and globally to deliver complex maritime projects.
• Act as the primary client interface, building trusted relationships with port authorities, government agencies and private sector clients.
• Manage end‑to‑end project delivery, including design, commercial management, programme coordination and multidisciplinary technical integration.

Required profile

• Significant experience as a Design Manager, Technical Lead, Project Manager or Senior Engineer on ports, coastal or maritime infrastructure projects.
• Strong experience managing multidisciplinary design teams across complex maritime projects.
• Proven ability to own and deliver packages of work within major infrastructure programmes.
• Excellent client engagement and stakeholder management skills, especially with port authorities and government agencies.
• Experience coordinating teams across multiple offices, regions or international environments.
