Portfolio Leader - Resilient Solutions

About the role

BlueScope's Building Applications Team is looking for a Portfolio Leader - Resilient Solutions to join its Port Kembla site. The role leads a portfolio of initiatives that position COLORBOND roofing and associated steel building systems as practical, scalable solutions for more resilient housing. It works across BlueScope, customers and the wider industry, partnering with customers, insurers, researchers, government, standards bodies and other industry stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead a prioritised portfolio of resilient housing initiatives, setting focus areas and a multi-year roadmap
• Translate climate resilience trends, industry insights, customer needs and policy developments into practical priorities for COLORBOND roofing and steel building systems
• Lead collaboration across BlueScope, customers, industry partners, research organisations and government stakeholders
• Identify solutions that support resilient reroofing, retrofitting and maintenance of Australian homes
• Shape policy, standards, codes of practice and industry guidance for resilient steel roofing and walling
• Lead technical, testing and research programs that strengthen the evidence base for resilient steel building systems
• Develop practical guidance and pathways that improve specification confidence, installation quality and industry adoption

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in engineering, building science, architectural science, science or another relevant discipline
• Experience leading work programs and coordinating cross-functional or multi-organisation initiatives
• Ability to work across technical, commercial, policy and customer environments
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with customers, industry bodies, regulators, researchers and senior stakeholders
• Well-developed analytical and communication skills, able to turn complex issues into clear strategies, guidance and delivery plans
