Platform DevOps Lead Engineer

About the role

The DevOps team at Macquarie builds pipelines, automation, and tooling to enable fast, safe code delivery. As Platform DevOps Lead Engineer you will lead a high‑performing team to create a modern internal platform that supports secure, scalable, and resilient engineering across identity, security, and data services.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the platform engineering strategy aligned with cyber and enterprise goals.
• Lead, mentor and grow a team of DevOps engineers delivering platform‑as‑product capabilities.
• Design and oversee secure, cloud‑native platforms (AWS/Azure, hybrid) and container orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS).
• Build CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and self‑service developer portals.
• Introduce AI‑driven automation, LLM integration, and DORA‑based productivity metrics.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing secure, scalable cloud platforms and leading DevOps teams.
• Strong understanding of security‑by‑design, identity, and secrets management.
• Ability to collaborate with cyber security and enterprise stakeholders.
