Software Engineer

About the role

The role involves designing, developing, and deploying high‑performance API and micro‑service solutions using Java and Golang. You will work within a tight‑knit team to deliver secure, scalable software for government projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java‑based micro‑services with Spring Boot.
• Implement Golang components where advantageous.
• Design, decode, and process high‑performance network protocols.
• Integrate APIs through gateways such as WSO2 or NGINX.
• Utilise DevOps pipelines with Bamboo, Jira, BitBucket/GitLab, SonarQube and Veracode.
• Containerise applications using Docker and orchestrate with Kubernetes.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship with current NV1/NV2 security clearance.
• Strong time‑management skills and ability to juggle multiple projects.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborative teamwork.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Java.
• Proficiency in Golang (highly advantageous).
• Experience with Spring Boot, API/Micro‑services development.
• Familiarity with API gateways (WSO2, NGINX).
• Hands‑on with Docker, Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of relational and non‑relational databases (MySQL, MongoDB, ClickHouse).
• Experience with messaging systems (Kafka, ActiveMQ).
• Use of DevOps tools: Bamboo, Jira, BitBucket/GitLab, SonarQube, Veracode.
