Plant Operator – Road Maintenance

About the role

Join the Regional Maintenance team to operate rollers, loaders, mixers and other plant equipment for road construction and maintenance projects across the region. You will work on a camp-away schedule, primarily Monday to Friday, ensuring safety, environmental compliance and quality standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Operate plant equipment such as rollers, loaders and mixers on road projects.
• Conduct pre‑start inspections and basic plant maintenance.
• Perform traffic management, manual handling and other operational tasks to keep the road network safe and reliable.
• Maintain accurate work records, documentation and compliance with safety and quality procedures.

Required profile

• Current Australian driver’s licence (Class C, minimum Provisional P1).
• Construction Industry White Card.
• Willingness to obtain a Heavy Rigid MR/HR licence, Traffic Controller Card and Work Zone Traffic Management qualification within three months if not already held.
• Strong literacy and numeracy to complete work records and communicate with the team.
