Planning & Scheduling Lead (Maintenance Works Coordinator)

About the role

Service Stream is delivering the Urban Utilities Mechanical, Electrical and Control Systems (UU MECS) contract across South East Queensland, maintaining water and wastewater infrastructure for more than 1.6 million customers. The company's Utilities division is seeking a Planning & Scheduling Lead (Lead Maintenance Works Coordinator) based in Fortitude Valley, reporting to the Asset & Optimisation Manager. You will lead a team of Works Coordinators and hold direct accountability for schedule compliance, on-time delivery and planning efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage Works Coordinators to deliver against schedule, delivery and efficiency KPIs, set performance expectations, monitor outputs and act as escalation point for delivery risks.
• Govern planning and scheduling so that works are executed safely, efficiently and in line with contractual and KPI requirements.
• Ensure high schedule compliance, forward planning and optimisation through bundling and sequencing.
• Monitor performance against on-time completion, SLA compliance and backlog targets, resolve constraints and drive improvements in planning efficiency, productivity and standardisation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in planning, scheduling or coordination roles (2+ years) or 5+ years in related maintenance/operations roles.
• Experience in a people management position.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments, managing competing priorities and optimising schedules under pressure.
• Proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement, efficiency and collaboration.
• Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across teams and stakeholders.

Required skills

• Strong planning skills and experience with job scheduling systems (e.g. Click or similar).
• Familiarity with asset management systems (e.g. Ellipse or similar).
