Planning Manager – Maintenance

About the role

Cement Australia's Gladstone site is the largest integrated cement plant in Australia. Within its Maintenance team, it is seeking an experienced Planning Manager to lead the maintenance planning team responsible for plant and ancillaries, service contracts and the management of site major contractors. The role reports to the Maintenance Manager and leads a team of experienced Maintenance Planners.

Key responsibilities

• Promote a positive safety culture and support site safety, environmental compliance and shutdown procedures
• Lead, coach and develop a competent, motivated Maintenance Planning team
• Ensure systems, processes and plans manage kiln and cement milling shortstops, and that the SAP maintenance management system reflects schedule and resource requirements
• Generate, process and close out work orders, and maintain weekly plan financial, progress and productivity reports
• Support the maintenance budget and cost control for shutdown delivery, and deliver cost-effective work packaging and inventory reduction
• Meet planning KPIs, keep the planning backlog at zero and balance safety, cost, time and resources
• Ensure ACR (Approved Contractor Register) compliance, monitor vendor and contractor performance, and meet statutory requirements for pressure vessels, fire protection systems and cranes

Required profile

• Proven heavy industrial maintenance and planning experience in a leadership role
• Minimum 3 years of cement manufacturing experience
• Experience managing a functional team and strong leadership and communication skills
• Tertiary qualification in an engineering discipline, project management or advanced trades

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Project
• Full understanding of SAP maintenance systems and processes
• Advanced knowledge of budget setting, tracking and forecasting
