Pharmacist Team Leader – Critical Care

About the role

The Grade 3 Critical Care Pharmacist leads day‑to‑day operations of pharmacy services at Northern Beaches Hospital, reporting to senior pharmacy leadership. The role ensures safe, person‑centred, cost‑effective care for critical care patients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage staff and resources within the critical care pharmacy area, ensuring high‑quality service delivery.
• Report to and liaise with the Director or Deputy Director of Pharmacy on operational matters.
• Lead quality‑improvement initiatives and service evaluations.
• Provide clinical teaching and supervision to students, interns, pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians/assistants.

Required profile

• Current registration as a pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (or eligible for immediate registration) with no practice restrictions.
• Extensive hospital pharmacy experience and ability to work autonomously with high‑level professional judgement.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills for interaction with health professionals and external providers.
• Commitment to evidence‑based practice and patient‑centred care.

Required skills

• Proficiency with health information systems and general computer literacy.
• Experience in quality‑improvement activities, service evaluation, and clinical teaching.
