Pharmacist – Aseptic and Production Services

About the role

Canberra Health Services is seeking an experienced hospital pharmacist to join the Aseptic and Production Services team at The Canberra Hospital. The role focuses on the safe, efficient and compliant manufacture of medicines, including cytotoxic compounding, parenteral nutrition, clinical‑trial manufacturing and both sterile and non‑sterile production.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee aseptic compounding of cytotoxic and non‑cytotoxic medicines.
• Manage parenteral nutrition formulations and clinical‑trial drug manufacturing.
• Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and hospital governance frameworks.
• Collaborate with oncology, ICU and nutrition support teams to guarantee timely access to compounded medicines.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, innovation and education initiatives within the pharmacy department.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist with experience in a hospital setting.
• Demonstrated interest or experience in aseptic compounding and medication safety.
• Ability to work in a high‑performing, multidisciplinary environment.
• Commitment to professional development and adherence to regulatory standards.
