Permanent Speech Pathologist roles in Australia

About the role

We are seeking qualified Speech Pathologists registered (or registrable) with the Health Professions Council of South Africa to join permanent, full‑time positions across metropolitan, regional and rural Australia. These roles provide a clear pathway to Australian permanent residency and allow you to work within a world‑class healthcare system.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, voice, fluency, swallowing and cognitive‑communication using evidence‑based tools.
• Design and deliver individualized intervention programmes to improve communication and safe swallowing.
• Recommend and trial augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems and environmental modifications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including occupational therapists, physiotherapists, paediatricians, educators and NDIS coordinators.
• Provide education and training to clients, families, carers and educators.
• Deliver services in hospitals, community health centres, schools, private practice, aged‑care and NDIS‑funded settings.

Required profile

• Recognised Speech Pathology or Speech‑Language Pathology qualification from a South African university (Bachelor or Master’s level).
• Eligibility for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and willingness to obtain Australian registration where required.
• Current HPCSA registration or proof of eligibility.
• Commitment to relocate to Australia and engage with the skilled migration process.
