People Consultant – HR Advisory (Sydney/Melbourne)

About the role

Join QBE’s Leader Assist team as a People Consultant. You will be the first point of contact for leaders seeking advice on people‑management issues, acting as a trusted advisor while building on your HR generalist expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance, coaching and advice to leaders on performance, absence and flexible‑working requests.
• Manage non‑complex conduct and health & wellbeing cases in partnership with leaders and the broader People team.
• Develop and maintain internal resources, templates and knowledge‑bank content.
• Offer administrative support for organisational changes, people projects, continuous‑improvement initiatives and cyclical HR activities.
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to advance the people and business agenda.

Required profile

• Recent experience in an HR advisory role, preferably within a large or complex corporate environment.
• Proven ability to support leaders through performance, conduct and health & wellbeing cases end‑to‑end.
• Strong verbal and written communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
• Capability to work quickly on a variety of complex HR matters.
• Experience managing high‑volume administrative activities or participating in organisational change processes.
