Pastoral & Spiritual Care Practitioner

About the role

St Vincent's Care is looking for a compassionate Pastoral & Spiritual Care Practitioner to join its Maroochydore and/or Gympie aged care service. You will provide professional pastoral and spiritual care to residents, families, support networks and staff, working with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to nurture the spiritual and emotional wellbeing of residents and those close to them.

Key responsibilities

• Provide pastoral and spiritual care while respecting differing value systems, beliefs and practices
• Assess and prioritise pastoral and spiritual needs, developing appropriate care plans and support strategies
• Assist with providing person-centred religious and spiritual resources
• Support the emotional and spiritual wellbeing of residents through compassionate, person-centred care

Required profile

• Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) qualification, or equivalent training in counselling, theology, psychology or a combination of study and work experience (essential)
• Willingness to apply for a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (essential)
• Willingness to apply for an NDIS Worker Screening Check (essential)

• Ability to work autonomously
• Respect and sensitivity in ministry to persons of various religious, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
