Part-Time Oncology Nurse

About the role

Icon Cancer Centre is looking for a Registered Nurse to join its integrated oncology, haematology and radiation service in Rockingham, Western Australia. Working on a permanent part-time basis and reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will educate and support patients undergoing cancer treatment. Oncology experience is essential, and the role suits nurses with skills in immunocompromised, chemotherapeutic and radiation patient care, symptom management, wound care and high dependency.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based comprehensive oncology and radiation nursing care in line with the ACQSHC National standards.
• Educate and support patients undergoing radiation therapy.
• Administer medications and intravenous infusions safely, in line with policies and procedures.
• Provide holistic nursing care and high-level assessments, including pre- and post-procedure care.
• Contribute to quality improvement and work with the Quality and Clinical Governance Team.
• Maintain accurate patient records and offer emotional support to patients and families.

Required profile

• AHPRA registration and demonstrated experience in oncology nursing.
• Experience in oncology, radiotherapy, IV cannulation, CVAD management and chemotherapy administration.
• Ability to work in high-acuity settings and within a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills
