Part-Time Handyperson

About the role

Mercure Perth on Hay, a 127-room full-service property near the Swan River in Perth's CBD, is looking for a motivated and reliable part-time handyperson (2-3 days a week) to join its maintenance team and help keep the property in top condition.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance and repair tasks, including plumbing, painting, HVAC and general upkeep of hotel facilities.
• Keep guest rooms, public areas and service areas in excellent working order.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff.
• Inspect hotel equipment, machinery and systems regularly to spot potential issues.
• Maintain inventory of tools, supplies and materials and request replacements as needed.
• Assist with setup and breakdown for special events or room configurations.
• Follow safety protocols and comply with local building codes and regulations.
• Communicate effectively with hotel staff on urgent maintenance matters.

Required profile

• Previous experience maintaining hotels, fixed plant or equipment systems.
• Knowledge of preventive, predictive and reactive maintenance strategies.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated, proactive, punctual and reliable.
• Able to work flexible shifts, including weekends as required.
