Part-Time Funeral Arranger/Conductor

About the role

Mayday Recruitment is recruiting, on behalf of a funeral services provider, a part-time Funeral Arranger/Conductor for its Mandurah team. The role suits someone who enjoys helping people, bringing calm to difficult situations and delivering exceptional service. Previous funeral industry experience is not essential; full training and support are provided. You must be comfortable working with deceased persons and supporting grieving families.

Key responsibilities

• Meet with families and listen carefully to their wishes
• Help families plan and coordinate meaningful funeral services
• Conduct funeral services with professionalism, warmth and respect
• Be a calm and reassuring presence for families throughout the process
• Work respectfully and professionally around deceased persons
• Coordinate the details behind each service so everything runs smoothly
• Work with colleagues, clergy, celebrants and other service providers
• Support the day-to-day operations of the Mandurah location
• Maintain high standards of care, presentation, safety and compliance

Required profile

• Good people person: able to make others feel comfortable, compassionate and emotionally mature
• Clear communicator who listens before responding, and stays calm in emotionally challenging situations
• Comfortable working with deceased persons and grieving families
• Highly organised, adaptable to different families, cultures and beliefs, and confident working independently and in a team
• Reliable and available to work Mondays, with flexibility around the other days
• Current unrestricted driver's licence
