Part-Time Commis Chef

About the role

Mercure Perth on Hay, a 127-room full-service property near the Swan River in Perth's CBD, is looking for a passionate and motivated part-time Commis Chef to join its kitchen team. You will work in a hotel F&B operation across breakfast, lunch and dinner, helping create memorable culinary moments for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present menu items with variety and flair, within the cost margins set by the hotel
• Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage, with stock control procedures in place and maintained
• Keep working areas clean and tidy, including washing dishes and kitchen cleaning
• Maintain, service and clean all equipment
• Report any problems to the Head Chef

Required profile

• Trade qualification and experience in a similar role, preferably in a hotel or restaurant environment
• Exemplary communication and organisational skills
• Ability to maintain high and consistent standards

Required skills

• Excellent technical knowledge with experience in a variety of cooking techniques and styles
• Demonstrated ability to maintain food safety standards and understanding of HACCP
