Part-Time Care Service Assistant

About the role

PresCare Alexandra Gardens, part of the Apollo Care Alliance, is looking for a Care Service Assistant for a part-time position of 40 hours per fortnight, with a mix of AM and PM shifts. The assistant supports residents by helping Personal Care Workers provide essential care that keeps the home safe, clean and comfortable, and builds meaningful relationships with residents, their families and the care team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide basic mobility assistance, such as walking with a resident or propelling their wheelchair
• Help deliver meals and remove dishes and meal trays
• Supervise residents in a memory support unit
• Stock residents' individual continence bags
• Clean resident rooms and carry out laundry duties
• Provide emotional support to residents and assist their families and visitors
• Help residents take part in activities they find interesting

Required profile

• Nursery worker clearance (NDIS Worker Clearance), currently held or willing to obtain
• Availability across the week
• Lifestyle and Support Services experience in an aged care setting
• Unlimited working rights in Australia
• Hospitality or customer service experience in a fast-paced environment

Required skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassion and empathy
• Understanding of resident rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes (highly regarded but not essential)

• Pay of $32.61 - $34.42 plus penalties and 12% superannuation
