Panel Beater / Body Builder

About the role

Busways is seeking an experienced Panel Beater/Body Builder to lead daily maintenance and repair of its bus fleet at the Blacktown depot. The role involves assessing damage, performing structural repairs, and ensuring all work meets OEM specifications and WHS standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assess bus body damage and provide accurate repair estimates.
• Remove, replace, and repair panels, hoods, fenders and other components using hand and power tools.
• Straighten and repair frames and structures to OEM specifications.
• Perform welding and fabrication as required.
• Blend, finish and prepare surfaces for painting.
• Maintain workshop cleanliness and adhere to WHS regulations.

Required profile

• Relevant trade qualification (MVTC) and Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology.
• Proven experience as a Body Builder/Panel Beater on larger vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of bus body construction, repair techniques and welding.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Physically fit and able to undergo pre‑employment medical and working‑with‑children checks.
• Australian citizen, permanent resident or unrestricted work rights and a current unrestricted driver’s licence.
