Paediatric Occupational Therapist (Rehabilitation)

About the role

Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CHQ HHS) is recruiting a paediatric occupational therapist for its Queensland Paediatric Rehabilitation Service (QPRS), based at the hospital. The service delivers tertiary-level health services to children and adolescents, working in an interdisciplinary, child and family-centred model that uses inpatient, day rehabilitation, outpatient and outreach services, including telehealth. The position is a flexible full-time or part-time fixed-term role.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver quality paediatric occupational therapy services across the continuum of care to patients and families, within a team of occupational therapists or an inter-disciplinary team.
• Provide clinical services across the rehabilitation caseload in line with professional and ethical standards, applying increasing independent clinical judgement as experience grows.
• Work cooperatively with occupational therapy, multidisciplinary and inter-disciplinary teams and with patients, families, other health professionals, supervisors, assistants, students and researchers.
• Provide student education and clinical practice supervision for less experienced practitioners, and give direction to assistant and support staff and work experience students.
• Ensure occupational therapy services are integrated, efficient and equitable for the community served.
