Operations & Transformation Consultant (Defence)

About the role

We are looking for a Consultant in Operations & Transformation to work with Defence leaders in Canberra. The role will involve delivering strategic projects that support the National Defence Strategy and Defence Strategic Review.

Key responsibilities

• Engage directly with Defence clients to identify challenges and co‑create solutions.
• Lead and coordinate project workstreams, ensuring delivery of outcomes and impact.
• Mentor junior team members and foster their development.
• Collaborate within a high‑performing team to improve operational performance for Defence.
• Leverage Deloitte’s capabilities in problem‑solving, design thinking, digital innovation, data analytics and global consulting networks.
• Own projects from initiation through to completion, aligning deliverables with client strategic goals.

Required profile

• Proven experience working within or consulting to the Australian Department of Defence, APS or the broader National Security community.
• Current AGSVA security clearance at NV1 level or higher.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to lead teams and manage stakeholder relationships.
