Operations Supervisor

About the role

The Operations Supervisor at Coates Hume Portables leads on‑site teams to deliver portable building and temporary facility solutions across customer projects. You will act as the primary Coates representative, ensuring safety, quality and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and oversee the supply and installation of portable buildings and temporary facilities.
• Lead and supervise operational and installation teams to achieve safe, timely and quality outcomes.
• Serve as the main on‑site contact for customers, managing relationships and expectations.
• Coordinate plant, equipment, logistics and resourcing with branch teams and contractors.
• Manage site conditions, schedule changes and variations to minimise delays.
• Lead safety activities, including pre‑starts, toolbox talks and HSEQ compliance.

Required profile

• Relevant trade qualification or experience in construction, building, installation, facilities or hire equipment environments.
• Strong site experience, including preparation and management of risk assessments and SWMS.
• Proven experience leading teams and coordinating work across multiple sites.
• Customer‑focused mindset with strong relationship‑building abilities.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel).
• Current driver’s licence (HR preferred).
• Forklift, EWP (>11m) or basic rigging licences (advantageous but not essential).
