Operations Superintendent – Sugar Mill

About the role

The Operations Superintendent is a senior site leadership position responsible for overseeing cane crushing, sugar production, cogeneration and quality operations at Inkerman Mill. The role focuses on achieving production, safety and financial targets while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of cane crushing, sugar production, cogeneration and quality to meet production goals.
• Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental standards and supporting safety improvement initiatives.
• Monitor, analyse and report factory performance, recommending actions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Coach, develop and manage operations teams, including performance management, succession planning, recruitment and training.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across people, processes and systems.

Required profile

• Experienced operational leader with a background in heavy industrial manufacturing.
• Proven ability to optimise production outcomes and manage teams in fast‑paced environments.
• Strong problem‑solving, planning and communication skills.
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering or equivalent practical experience in a heavy industrial setting.
• Demonstrated commitment to health, safety and environmental compliance.
